About Patch

What is Patch?

Patch is an online initiative to connect our creative community. We are living through an unprecedented situation that will change the way we connect with each other in fundamental ways. Gray Area is reimagining how we connect deeply from a distance. On Patch, together we can explore new ways of connecting, learning, and preserving intimacy through live streaming, online education, and virtual spaces.

Why did you create Patch?

In light of the emerging outbreak of Covid19 and the pressures it brought upon artists and cultural institutions across our communities, Gray Area accelerated our plans to augment our cultural events and creative education online. While unable to activate events IRL in our beloved Grand Theater, we are creating a virtual space to connect, learn, and create together with our global community online.

We believe creativity is vital, especially in navigating collective challenges. That’s why we’re launching a virtual space for creators to nurture well-being, community and care through art.

Gray Area’s mission is to empower social transformation through creative action, and Patch is our digital initiative to continue these efforts through online community, creative education, multimedia events and more.

How do I sign up?

Is Patch free?

Yes! Participation in Patch is free: you can join our online community, virtual events, and access curated content.
